Surprising absolutely nobody, we’re still working through Snaotheus’ LIF box. We have an interesting one here, a Japanese take on a Italian take of a Czech style. The ratings have me a bit nervous for this one, but I’m trying to go in with an open mind. Let’s get into it
Pours a clear gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is actually quite vibrant for an older can. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon juice, orange zest, crackery malt, earthy hops, honey, white pepper, and light grass
It takes a sweeter turn in taste, but it’s not unwelcome by any means. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting bready malt, lime zest, white grape, white pepper, honey, floral hops, and orange zest. The swallow brings notes of earthy hops, white pepper, white grape, honey, black pepper, lemon zest, and straw
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth yet crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry and refreshing
I’ll be damned, I enjoyed this one much more than others. It’s nothing amazing, but damn solid regardless

350ml can served in a hotel glass. The characters I can actually read from the date stamp are 2023/05 (canned on, I guess) and 2024/04 (best by, I guess). Bought it at a beer store in Utsunomiya a couple days ago.
Pours clear dark gold with a smallish head, after a few minutes the carbonation settles out and it looks pretty still. Smell is lemon, citrus flowers, old hay, bright.
Taste is heavy on the bitter side, has a pretty strong musty old hop presence, but has a really nice honeysuckle floral sweetness, and a very resinous, sappy sticky bitterness.
Mouthfeel is interesting, feels kind of medium but also airy and clean. Overall...it's not bad. I'd like to try it about two months younger.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
