Very sweet aroma with a hint of nuttiness. The aroma doesn't amaze me. Nor does the golden colour with very little head. The flavour is nutty with a rich malt. Unfortunately, there is lots of sweetness, plenty of booze and the whole doesn't come together for me. The beer is quite thick and has moderately-low carbonation. Interesting but the execution is lacking something.

Pours rich amber with a thin khaki head that disappears quickly. Lots of carbonation though. Nose is pretty mild with some oak and whiskey notes and nothing else. A very sweet beer with a maple syrup like character. Sweetness is decently balanced though by the whiskey character and a clear but not large presence of hops... not to mention alcohol. Mouthfeel is thinnish, especially for something like this large. Syrup texturally too but in a grade C syrup sort of way. Not bad but not great either, especially for the price. Think maybe some aging would have been a good idea. Oh well.
