I hesitated to review this beer, because I got it for free from the brewery as it was just past its best before date. I knew it was going to be super carbonated, and it was, as it foamed out of the bottle for a few minutes, but the beer held up surprisingly well so I thought would publish my notes.
500ml bottle poured into a snifter.
A: Hazy light orange (looks like cloudy apple juice almost) with a massive foamy white head. Leaves little puffs of lacing down the glass.
S: Smell is a lot of cloves, with noticeable but subdued banana and a bit of freshly baked bread aroma.
T: Taste is spicy cloves and sweetness upfront with dry grain through the sip and a bit of spicy hop kick at the end. Maybe just the slightest hint of oxidation but not bad at all.
M: This is where the age really made a difference. It was way over carbonated. Medium body and a dry finish.
D: This beer is a well made wheat beer that even a little past its prime is still a pleasant drink.
