Wäldchen Bräu GmbH "Wäldches Kirsch+Bier"
,33L brown glass bottle, "Mindestens haltbar bis: 13.12.17 18:14" and sampled on 21.09.17
,75€ @ Rewe, Poedeldorferstraße 1, Bamberg, DE
Look: Clear ruby body with crimson highlights beneath a finger-thick head of creamy pink foam. It has a limited head retention but delivers decent lacing.
Smell: Clearly cherry. Sweet, not tart. It's oddly authentic and non-authentic at the same time. It's all cherry though, no beer comes through.
Taste: It's labeled as half beer and half cherry juice, and that's pretty much what it tastes like but with the cherry dominating. You can taste the beer just before the swallow, and then at the start of the finish, but then the cherry takes over and lingers. I'm not sure how much sugar is added to the cherry juice, or how natural it is, but it is listed on the label as a concentrate. There's very little bitterness, if any at all, yet it still finishes dry and refreshing, the sweetness dissipates almost immediately.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp-then-smooth.
Overall: Very similar to some Belgian cherry biers that run along the sweeter side, or even Samuel Smith's Organic Cherry Fruit Beer although that's sweeter and more intense. It's pleasant, charming even, and refreshing.

Mix of Cherrylemonade and Beer. Has a deep red color pink foam. Smells intensly like Cherry sweets. Overall the cherry aromas overpower the beer a bit. The medium carbonation makes it a refreshing drink for the summer. It does lack complexity though, good for a casual drink but nothing too interesting.
