Growler fill from Marcy Beverage earlier today - served into an imperial pint glass. Ever so slightly hazed golden appearance with a minimal white head that falls off to barely a covering. Large bubbles rising up from the bottom of the glass. Smells of rock candy, hay, clove, bit of spicy hop. Flavor starts with a fairly sturdy grassy bitterness and transitions into spicy yeast, pepper, lemon, and finishing with a bit of candy sweetness and light grain. High carbonation delivers some sting on the palate with a medium-light chalky feel. A nice drinking session ale with a Belgian flair - interesting interplay between a candy-like sweetness and spicy bitterness.

A: Cloudy golden color with minimal white head.
S: Yeasty. Bananna spice and some hints of apples.
T: Very nice light saison. Very crisp tasting.
M: Medium body but light on the tongue.
D: Super easy drinking. One of my favorites from the fest. Went down easy and was rather enjoyable.

From Albany Microbrew festival. From notes.

Pours a fogged gold. Odd floaties that look like leaves and plants or something floating all over. Nose is strong with citrus. Dough and yeast as well. Flavor is funky. Doughy and fruity edge. Strong kicking tang. Feel is low on carbonation. Overall it gets better over time, but at first a bit much. Still a bit rough around the edges, but not bad. I have had some nasty American produced saisons before, and this is not one of them.
