330ml bottle. A wheat ale, brewed with fresh-picked grass - the front-lawn type, I presume. The label is rather literal in depicting the 'Don't walk on the grass, drink it' subtitle.
This beer pours a hazy medium golden amber hue, with three fingers of puffy, yet finely foamy eggshell white head, which leaves some decent spackled lace around the glass as it slowly and evenly recedes.
It smells of crisp, grassy (natch), leafy hops, biscuity pale malt, a touch of spicy wheat grain, sassy florals, a touch of very dry citrus, and fresh-cut hay. The taste is more malty than initially let on, with the gritty wheat grain getting a hand up on the ESB-like biscuity nature, the grassiness now less fresh seeming, gaining a tired weedy character, some musty, peppery floral notes standing firm, and a wee bit of citrus zest squeezing itself in.
The carbonation is fairly understated, merely supportive in its goings about, the body medium-light in weight, and generally smooth. It finishes fairly dry, the hay and bladed grass essences still muddling about with a certain bitterness, while the grainy wheat malt kicks back a bit further.
I'm not sure the name of this offering rings all that true in English - is it a play on the multiple meanings of 'grass'? Or just a more simple reference to the mixture of weeds and grass that were likely cut up to be added to this brew? At any rate, this is indeed grassy, a touch weedy, and nowhere near pot-like. Refreshing, somewhat, and enjoyable for what it is.
