Dark for an iPa. Lacey head. Nose is not too forward. Biscuit and caramel candy hops on the nose. Taste is about the same with a bit more resin. Considering it is straight from the bar, it seems a little stale. I had just come from cellar maker so it may be a bit unfair, but this hoppy offering does not add up

Tap at Mikkeller brew pub in San Fran
Light foamy fizzy head fades at a med pace, decent giant lacing, clear honey orange color.
Nose nice hops, super fruity, candy like reddish malts, tropical fruit, generic fruit, like a bunch of fruit punch drinks blended together, hint grassy spicy hop, but mostly just all the fruity characters, and hint of malt.
Taste brings mild sweet toasty reddish malts, little candy caramel like flavor, into fruity hops again, mild citrus and mild tropical, lots of generic fruity flavors, little candied stone fruit. Finish dry fair bitterness, lingering mild spicy fruity hop, touch of sticky malt.
Mouth is med bod, nice carb.

an exclusive to the mikkeller bar in san francisco, i think this is a real impressive ipa. its just big enough at this abv to linger with all the oily hops in it, but still be plenty drinkable, i think the balance between big and crushable is excellent, right on for the style. the hops are awesome in this, above a slightly copper colored malt base. tropical and juicy, a nice mix of northwest and southern pacific hops, although it seems like a cuvee of so many that i cant really place any varietals specifically. right in the dead center of this there is a flavor explosion of juicy hops, lemony and bright, mouthwatering almost, and i get it every single sip of the whole glass. love that freshness. not sure where they are making these tenderloin beers to have them so fresh and always on hand, but this is an excellent ipa. i liked it far better than the pale when i was there, and frankly could drink this all fall this year, its beautifully balanced with the hops and the grains and the booze. another mikkeller treasure.

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar SF on 1/19/15. Pours a dark amber color with 1 finger of white head and good lacing. Aroma is dank pine, citrus and tropical fruits. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with resinous stickiness. Taste is solid combination of resinous hop bitterness with grapefruit and slight mango/peach flavors. This is a solid IPA.
