Pours a slightly cloudy dark orange with a finger of off white head that dissipated fairly quickly.
Smells of citrusy hops, sweet malts.
Taste follows, pithy grapefruit, caramel malts.
Medium bodied with good carb levels, smooth feel.
Overall a good one that reminds me of an old school IPA.

7.5% ABV. 54 IBU. EBC: 11.
Reviewed from notes taken around September 2015.
HEAD: Foamy and thick, with an off-white colour and a poor complexion. Leaves supple even coating on the sides of the glass as it recedes. Retains incredibly well for the high ABV - ~10+ minutes. Consistency could be more robust.
BODY: Deep copper colour of average vibrance. Translucent but nontransparent. Clean, with no haze or visible yeast. Appears filtered.
AROMA: Has a sweet pale malt and caramalt foundation. Hop profile is comprised of cotton candy, dank herbaceous cannabis-like notes, floral character, and grassiness.
I detect no overt yeast character, alcohol/booze, or off-notes.
Average aromatic intensity.
I'm not sure I'll like this judging by the hop profile indicated by the aroma, but it does seem to be to style.
TASTE: Hops are actually downplayed and understated to such extent that this comes off drinking more like an English or American Pale Ale than an IPA. Some spiciness is also present - perhaps even from rye grain (but more likely from the yeast). The pale malt and caramalt backbone deftly hides the ABV - only at the cost of bringing too much sweetness to the build, throwing it out of balance.
Imbalanced though it may be, it's still pleasant and approachable enough. I do like it for what it is, but the hop profile - cotton candy, floral character, herbaceuous character - just isn't my cup or tea, nor is it as intricate or subtle as one would find even in Mikkel's own single hop series beers (e.g. Amarillo).
TEXTURE: Quite well-executed, supporting the taste nicely. Smooth, wet, aptly carbonated, medium-bodied, and adequately heft and thick on the palate.
OVERALL: ABV is expertly disguised. This drinks much easier than it should, but it just fundamentally fails to deliver in terms of hops.

A nice drinkable IPA. I can feel the ingredients are of high quality. Nice herbal hop aroma. However, something went wrong with bottle conditioning--poorly carbonated. I don't mind really.
