Spring 2015 vintage; drank 6/6/15 @ the Yarchives.
Murky dandelion appearance.
HUGE, fluffy eggnog head (careful pouring!); frothy lace.
Lemon & faint funk notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Mild dandelion funk flavor;that's about it.
This tastes like a drinkable, boring Belgian IPA. I'll pass.

De Mikeller webshop. En copa Teku. Viendo Los 100 1x11-12. Regalada. 23 meses tras consumo preferente. Plana pero sin defectos, y aun conserva ligeras notas de vainilla que le dan algo de interes

From the bottle in a snifter. This nice AIPA pours a murky amber tinged golden color with
a nice head of white foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin layer, and nice lacing. Nose of
subtle vanilla, citrus fruit notes, and herbal hops with a touch of honey. Interesting flavor;
subtle vanilla and citrus notes beaten about by pine and herbal hops. Nice mouth feel; crisp,
bitter on the finish, and medium carbonation. Overall a nice little brew but not worthy the
standard of the Mikkeller brews I have come to love.

unbelievable label art, but unfortunately thats cooler than the beer is. i feel like i have waited a lifetime to try this one, i had hopes through the roof, but i was a bit disappointed. not that this isnt great, its a really nice beer, but i question the freshness of my bottle, the hops have faded a lot or were never that pungent, certainly not enough to be called an ipa. i love the yeast in here, the rugged but refined nature of it, and i like the true vanilla bean aroma and flavor, its really prominent all the way. it needs more hops though to be what it says it is, and frankly it bothers me. i have been a loyalist fanboy of mikkeller for a long time, but some lackluster beers have come through lately, i dont know if this was made in san diego or not, but i have not loved everything from the new brewery so far, i hope we dont see a drop off of quality in general with these, they have represented he absolyte cutting edge of craft beer all the way, but lately its been less than perfect. good body here, lots of bitter which is cool with the vanilla, but so little hop aroma and flavor that it seems like a pale or even cream type base beer. maybe my hopes were too high, but this was just okay...

maybe vanilla just cant get past the bitterness of an IPA.... or maybe it needs to be fresh. with a expire date of Dec'16 maybe this is already 6 months old. or more? maybe that vanilla was prominent when bottled? maybe that why i purchased this bottle, because i like vanilla? sounds like the complaint of many others, also... it's still not a bad IPA; it just lacks any trace of vanilla? awesome creamy white head, with lots of gunk settled at the bottom. is that the vanilla? should i have stirred a little?

Pours hazy orange/gold with a dense white head
Pine and citrus with some tropical notes (mango, pineapple) and the slightest hint of vanilla
Taste follows the nose but the vanilla is only barely detectable and only when it warms up a bit. I would have liked more vanilla. Regardless, this is a super tasty IPA.
Crisp and refreshing.
I was disappointed in the lack of vanilla. they should just advertise it as a regular IPA, but it's worth a try anyway. Mikkeller continues its trend of rarely if ever letting me down.
