Poured to a Brouwerij'TJ tumbler glass.
Bought in October from Beergium, been celaring this beer since then.
A: The body is pitch black, having a beige to light brown head. No surprises.
S: There's a string coffee roastiness profile, bigger than the the coffee and the roasted malts profiles. There's some vanilla and also some nuttiness. In the back, some wood coming in from the barrel aging. No tequilla so far.
T: The taste begins with a somewhat sweet touch, but instead of finishing with a small bitter profile, it finishes instead with a acid minor profile, as if there's some brett in the barrel aging with tequilla. Not perfect, far from it instead. As a whole, it's interesting but I'm positive this wasn't made on purpose.
M: Bitterness is very low. Tartness is medium low. Body is medium, carbonation is high. Alcohol is unnoticed but should, however, that's a food thing.
O: Bare in mind wih me, no tequilla flavours after almost one year of celaring. Never had this before so I didn't knew what to expect but this misses the Tequila BA. In th aftermath, it's a good/regular imperial stout with a twist on barrel aging.

Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma has lots of coffee and some undefined fresh note, maybe from the tequila barrel. Taste has also lots of coffee and the same freshness in the finish. Body is quite thin but smooth. Really nice and easy drinking.

Pours black with a tan head.
Nose shows coffee, heavy roast, woody vanilla notes, soft booze and chocolate.
Similar flavours but with a bigger roasted malt presence. More coffee and woody tequila.

A: thin appearing, but dark black with a decent mocha head of slight retention, but soapy bubbles remain atop the body throughout, though no lace.
S: good coffee and Tequila are dominant notes with Chocolate and some wood underneath.
T: as with the nose, the best part of the up front coffee taste is that it tastes fresh not stale. After coffee comes cactus spiciness.
M: pretty thin, with moderate carbonation.
O: decent and nicely cactus spicy.

Got this one at some shop in Belgium
From a bottle into a snifter
Oatmeal stout brewed with coffee and aged in Tequila barrels
APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a two finger, medium looking, creamy tan head with good retention. Head slowly fades to a full foamy cap and leaves some nice lacing down the glass. Eventually a ring and splotchy wisp remains but leaves no real lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Coffee and sweet cream on the nose, with some oak and tequila as well. Light milk chocolate and roasted malts as well, but the sweeter coffee and cream take the lead with the wood. A little too much spirit for my tastes, perhaps.
TASTE: Oak, some tequila and caramel up front, with some spirit at the swallow, moving into a medium but lingering finish of more tequila, oak, sweet, creamy coffee and a touch of bitterness as well. A bit of roasted malt lingers as well.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Not quite creamy enough, a touch watery, goes down fine and finishes a bit sticky.
OVERALL: This is okay. The tequila barrels impart a significant character to the beer, and as a result, the coffee base seems to take a bit of a hit. It’s a little too spirit and wood dominant on the nose for my tastes, perhaps. Still, this is interesting enough and a useful addition to the Beer Geek Breakfast family. Give it a try if you see it.
