On draft at the Reykjavik taphouse.
Wine glass pour (.2 liters, I believe). A pretty reasonable amount for safety's sake, but a bit of a let down considering the price.
Pours dark and cloudy yellow, like some kind of chemical from a goddamn science experiment. Surprisingly lively considering its very high ABV.
Smells wonderfully smooth: vanilla, booze, chocolate, barley. Not the most complex example of its style, however, as the bourbon barrel completely overwhelms the barleywine.
Tastes like it smells: bourbony and very, very smooth for the alcohol content, but the complexity is a little lacking and you can't really taste the barleywine. There's some intense, syrupy hoppiness at the very end, but overall it bourbon, bourbon, bourbon.
