This one is Kaffir Lime Pils exclusively brewed for Mikkeller Bangkok. On-tap served in a stemmed glass.

Slightly hazed gold straw in color with thick white foamy head formation, it retains very well before slowly sinking to an eternal bubble crown and leaving plenty of sticky lacing patch and spot on the glass-side, high visible carbonation.

Very lemony aroma, kaffir lime, lime juice, orange peel, floral, some grass, bread and grain.

The taste is based by good malty goodness with notes of bread, sweet, and grain. Kaffir lime and lemon are introduced shortly thereafter together with a touch of spiciness as well as light bitterness.

Medium body with good crispness and smooth mouthfeel from its crisp and lively carbonation, finish is dry and clean. Pretty good Pils with some twist making its crisp, refreshing, and very easy to drink.

Mikkeller "Whenever" Pils with Lime & Ginger
on tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Barcelona, Spain on 27 November 2015
,2 l stemmed glass for 4€

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden body beneath a bright white head of frothy foam. The head holds very well and leaves magnificent lacing behind. Beautiful glass of beer.

Aroma: Pilsner malt and lime... perhaps more lime than malt... no, it seems to teeter back and forth. Only a suggestion of ginger comes through, and that's with already knowing that it's in there. Quite nice. Very enticing!

Flavor: The ginger comes through fuller (but not boldly), followed by malt, and then lime - a full turn around from what the aroma had suggested. It's perfectly balanced which is surprising for a beer with both lime and ginger. There's some sweetish malt, which is needed, but it's not "sweet". Nor is it tart at all, but the lime does add something; and it finishes dry with the lime coming forward.

Mouthfeel: Medium/medium

Overall: A really refreshing beer, and one with interest as well, as the lime and ginger really garner your attention despite the fact that they're actually not that bold.
