On-draught @ Mikkeller bar Barcelona. Cost was 3 euro per 20cl stemware pour. Regrettably brief notes below (given a less than ideal review environment):
A: 1cm wide white colour head. Frothy and appealing. Has a nice coating of lacing as it recedes, which takes the average 2 minutes.
Body is a cloudy pale copper of average vibrance. No yeast, lees, or sediment is visible within.
AROMA: Belgian ale yeast is evident via spiciness and a hint of citrus peel. Coriander, sure. Belgian blonde/pale malts.
Aromatic intensity is average. Suggests an above average witbier with nice balance but wanting depth of flavour.
T: Subtle spiciness and lemon zest from the Belgian yeast. Reticent pale malts. That's about it, but it's nicely balanced.
Mf: Smooth, wet, somewhat refreshing, medium-bodied, well-carbonated.
O: Mikkel has done some of the best witbiers I've ever had. This, while drinkable, is not one of them. I wouldn't buy it again especially at its egregious price point, but it's nice for what it is.
