June 30th, 2016 - Now here's something new - a beer that smells like the unboxing of a new Nintendo game, with a freshness and plastic sheen that excites. The flavor is similar, but not unpleasant, but more semi-sweet with a hot burn and more of that commercial, retail therapy in the aftertaste.

Taster on tap at the San Diego location. Big head. Dark fruit, coal on the nose. Burnt grain, bitter, earthy upfront, with notes of coffee, toasted biscuit, roasted corn, dark chocolate. At 12%, this is a quite hoppy brew, without the usual nuances of Mikkeller's other signature brews. Maybe they're still in the forming stages and will add some malt sweetness to this hop bomb.
