Reviewed from notes. Poured from a small format bottle - I'm assuming 12 oz., but since I failed to note it I won't swear it wasn't an 11.2 oz. bottle. Either way, poured into an El Catador teku glass.

A: Yellow to very pale gold, and mostly clear with just a touch of haze. Good visible carbonation and a thin white head that fades quickly.

S: Citric acid and lactic tart. Mildly funky with a mild salinity under the pale malts that have just a hint of grist. Fairly low aroma, but okay for style.

T: Lactic tart again with the lemony citric acid. Pale cracker malts and two row malts. No grist on the flavor, though there might be a bit of wheat malt. A mild salinity in the mid-palate. Some tart acid in the hang with more saltiness and just a touch of funk.

M: A light body with minimal alcohol. A good amount of carbonation sensation, but towards the low side for style.

O: Meh. I wish it was more tart or more funky for personal preference, but I think it’s a decent middle of the road gose. I don’t think I’d look for it again, but rating to the classic style description they did fairly well. Ratings given for style; I would estimate my personal preference approximately 3.5/5.

330ml bottle - there's a United Nations World Elder Abuse Awareness Day?

This beer pours a hazy, pale golden straw colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly creamy bone-white head, which leaves some rather dense snow rime lace around the glass as things slowly recede.

It smells of acerbic lemon juice, grainy and doughy wheat and pale malt, muddled earthy spice, sea salt, and a very tame weedy and floral hop bitterness. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser edgy wheatiness, semi-sweet coriander, lemon zest, white saltine crackers, a hint of dour yeastiness, and more very subtle leafy, earthy, and floral hop bitters.

The carbonation is very low-key in its timid frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and generally smooth, the citrus acridity from the nose taking a break here, to the benefit of all concerned. It finishes off-dry, the base malt holding steady, while the lemon, salt, and spice start to fade to black.

Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable version of the style, nicely balanced, and just tart enough to engender a desire for another quaff. I don't know who this Stig fellow is that prompted Mikkeller to try and vilify him as such here, but it feels much more like an ode.

Looks like a hazy, light lemonade with big, fluffy meringue-type head. Excellent retention with thin lacing. Aromas are super lemony with some very light saltiness. Dough undertones. A touch of mint at the end. Tastes like a lightly salted Arnold Palmer! Really refreshing from the lightly acidic ending. Nice.
