On-tap served in a stemmed glass at Mikkeller Bangkok.
Mildly hazed amber orange hue, it comes with a finger of frothy white head that stands with decent retention before sinking to a long-lasting bubble film atop and leaving plenty of sticky lacing patch and spot on the glass-side.
Lots of spice in the aroma with chalky yeast and bready malt in the background, it is nicely complement with yeasty ester that is reminiscent of subtle funk, citrus, lime, pear, and peach, as well as caramel and candy sugar. There is suggestion of white grape and barrel too but it is not that much, anyway, it seems to be bolder when the beer starts to warm.
The taste is all what reflect in the aroma, yeast shines with its spice and fruity ester (citrus, lime, and peach). Malt provides its breadiness, caramel, and subtle sweet candy sugar to fulfill the gap while same time the acidity, white grape, and barrel gently disclose towards the taste buds. Hop is there too with a slight grassy bitterness.
The body is medium with some crisp and moderate carbonation to yield quite smooth mouthfeel, dry finish.
Good Belgian golden ale that is nicely blended with white wine character, there is as well modest complexity profile.
