Pours pitch black from the tap. There about a 1 finger brown head, that has decent retention.
The nose has notes of chocolate and coffee that are pleasing.
Taste there is chocolate, but the coffee is the star of the show. It is mellow at first, then kicks in hard. It has a slightly bitter finish.
The body is decent, and it has a bitter aftertaste that lingers in my palate.
Solid stout.

The importer, Shelton Brothers, has this description:
"An oatmeal stout with 25% oat-based ingredients and a nice touch of gourmet coffee and a lot of smoked malts. This beer is a smoked version a Beer Geek Breakfast
Ingredients : Water, malt (pils, oat, smoked, caramunich, brown, pale chocolate and chocolate), roasted barley, flaked oats, hops (centennial and cascade), ale yeast and gourmet coffee."

Back label of the bottle says this beer was brewed and bottled by Mikkeller at "Lervig Aktiebryggeri" in Norway, but the front label identifies this beer as 'Rauch Geek Breakfast (Smoked Oatmeal Stout Brewed With Coffee)'. There is no "Place" listing here for Mikkeller in Norway. There is no dating information on the bottle, but there is a bit of sludge on the bottom of the bottle after pouring so this beer may have been sitting for awhile.
Pours as a nearly black colored body, with just a hint of mahogany highlights when presented to light. Has a swirl of a light brown cap which sticks around. Leaves extensive spotting of lacing.
Big smoke in the aroma, with suggestions to smoked meat over a fire. Some coffee and chocolate are expressed also.
Taste brings forth the smoky wood and smoky meat flavor, with slight coffee and deep dark chocolate. Quite an ashy, abrupt end to each sip's taste profile. A little harsh, but the oatmeal stout component does express some lighter, sweeter flavors.
Rather thin mouth feel. The beer brings itself to a short expression, and then lives in the nose with the smoke.
A smoked beer that still expresses some different levels of flavors, but in the end, the smoke tamps all others down and lives on in the after taste. One must have an appreciation for smoked beer to appreciate what the beers offers.

This bottle says this is Denmarkian, not from San Diego, but I don't feel like creating a whole new entry.

It's a year old, at least. And I honestly do not remember when or where I acquired it.

Pours very dark and very flat. Dense and viscous, but no head.

Smells like a well-aged smoked stout. Harsh barley and smoked meat along with lighter nodes of coffee and dark chocolate.

Tastes pretty good, but it is weighted down by a thin body. Dark coffee and burnt barley, then some surprisingly light smoke nodes in the middle, then a coffee and barley finish.

Poured a jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled smoky - a little like a campfire. The smoked taste wasn't overpowering. Some sweet maltiness balanced everything out.
