Poured to a Mikkeller taster.
A: Body is yellow and highly opaque but still with a slight crystalline touch. Head is white, 3mm thick but shows much power on carbonation.
S: There's a slight vanilla touch followed by a citrusy, IPA-like touch. It then ends with fresh hoppy profile.
T: The taste begins with a hugely velvety touch of vanilla that's very soft, then moves on to a tangerine like tone before the hoppiness kicks in.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is good. Alcohol is unnoticed. Bitterness is mild.
O: Another good enough American IPA beer from Mikkeller. These guys won't ever disappoint.

330ml can - I gotta admit, I get a kick out of the label imagery on this one.
This beer pours a hazy, medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent defrosting back windshield lace around the glass as it slowly evaporates.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, some mixed tropical fruitiness, a bit of estery yeast, and some leafy, weedy, and grassy green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, some mild orange and red grapefruit citrus rind, still hard to isolate exotic fruity notes, a bit of thin milkiness, ethereal yeast, and more leafy, herbal, and grassy hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly restrained in its palate-satisfying frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, as the hops seem a bit strung-out at this particular juncture. It finishes off-dry, the malt and mixed fruitiness carrying the lingering day.
Overall - I'm not altogether sure what this offering aspires to be. Is it an NEIPA? Of course, being made at De Proef always gives it that vaguely Belgian character, so that further complicates things. At any rate, this is essentially quite boring, for an IPA of any stripe.

Cooper appearance with a substantial head.
Smells of lactose sweetness and yeast. Reminds me of a cream ale.
Taste is likewise, but with more fruity tropical flavors. Mouthfeel is moderate with low carbonation.
This is solid to say the least, as is expected from Mikkeller.

Really hazy peach color with white head. Aroma is quite tame, just some yeast and grassy hops. Taste is yeasty, somehow milky with some bitter hops on the finish. Medium to full bodied with smooth mouthfeel. It's not a bad beer but it's not a NE IPA like advertised.
