Look - opaque golden with a two-finger head that has little retention or lacing.
Smell - big big hop aromas in the form of juicy citrus, floral, and dank pine resin. There are also some sweet malt notes rounding it out in the form of caramel and biscuit/cracker and a nice yeasty presence lingering in the background.
Taste - again, those hops are big and juicy, but they somehow don't overpower everything since sweet malt notes and musky yeast are present as well.
Feel - high carbonation, medium body, dry finish, very crisp.
Overall, this is a great example of the style and has the added bonus of a complex and powerful hop presence.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY. This is an India Oat Kolsch with Yuzu, God is this style played out or what?

This one pours a light golden yellow, clear, with a very small head and a solid amount of lacing.

The Yuzu is pretty strong on the nose, smells quite juicy, with grassy hops and lemon.

This is pretty interesting, I wasn't sure if it would actually work. The Yuzu is present but subtle. This is definitely way hoppier than the typical Kolsch, but it's not just an IPA that was bottom fermented- you still get that Kolschy goodness. I'm not sure what the oats accomplished- but it's definitely smooth- maybe that's it?

This is light bodied and quite crisp- though the yuzu leaves a slight lingering sweetness.

This is a cool beer and definitely appropriate for summer.

Really well done. Bitterness from the yuzu I imagine gives the impression of a hoppy beer but without the presence of hops. Authentically captures the yuzu uniqueness - that floral lemon aromatic note, the bitterness of the pith, almost perfumed. Slight creaminess from oats but still aligns with the leaner body of a kolsch. Balance heatwave beer.

Pours a clear yellow with lots of visible carbonation. Soft, white foam.

Smell is very citrusy, with a little hint of bready malt.

Taste is very crisp and refreshing. Some bready malt and mild bitterness carries a huge punch of citrus.

Mouthfeel is medium, good carbonation.

Overall, I was hoping for something a little wackier, considering the description of India oat Kölsch-style ale with yuzu, but what this is is basically a very citrusy pale ale. Tasty, but too safe.
