16 oz can. Hazy pale orange. Smells of tropical fruit and some earthy hops. Tastes of light citrus. Lime, orange. Earthy hops. A little bready malt. Mild bitterness. Medium body. Not the most flavorful, but nothing wrong with it.

Pours a hazy orange with fine, thick foam.
Smell is a bit weird, there is a yeastiness that I don't think I've ever had in an IPA. Fruity, with hints of apricot...
Taste is sort of a hybrid of a saison and an IPA. Not sure if this was intended... Fairly sweet with a nice, balanced bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium and soft.
Overall, I don't really know what to make of this, and the previous reviews seem to indicate that this beer is at least a little bit strange.

i liked this one, but it was a little muted for me, like either the hops have faded a little bit, or like they werent that bold to begin with. a pretty refined looking cloudiness here, no sediment at all and still bright and frothy in the glass, not too thick or sloppy or dull or anything. aroma is nice, soft pine and hop oils, but its also kind of biscuity and maybe wheaty, dry on the grain side, but flavorful enough to balance out the hops, which dont have the usual mikkeller intensity and bite. light grapefruit in the flavor, pine too, maybe simcoe hops? its tough to say because they only really stand out for a second before it becomes all balanced and mild in the finish, more of a pale ale than an ipa at the end. i can appreciate that this is wet hopped, but its a little more subtle than i want it to be, wet hop beer should be hoppy above all else, and while this is hop forward, its a bit tame as they go. we drank it relatively fresh, so perhaps its just a mild recipe. we all liked the beer, and the freshness of the hops was obvious, even a little leafy green in here, but the flavor just wasnt as pronounced as i had hoped. mikkeller san diego is killing it though, everything i have had out of there has been fantastic!

Appearance - Pours deep burnt orange color with big soapy white head.
Aroma - Light citrus orange and grapefruit along with a balanced malt. There is almost an unpleasant sour smell maybe a chemical smell.
Taste - Light citrus up front bitter grapefruit and orange peel. The odd smell did not seem to show up in the taste but still not really what you think of in a NEIPA. Decent hop flavors.
Feel - Medium bodied pretty bitter and dry finish.
Overall - Not what I would consider a NEIPA, taste is ok but the aroma is not very good.

A: Pours a very murky dark golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit + grassy hops with a moderate aroma of bready + biscuit malts with a hint of caramel sweetness
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of bready + biscuit malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit + grassy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving a light hoppy flavor present.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Slightly disappointed with this one - usually these hop series beers are amazing but I'm not as big a fan of this one as the others. Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol but maybe just a hint too green from the fresh hops and not juicy enough.

There is a funk in the smell that is really unpleasant. Almost reminds me of a sour. Not at all what you want in a NE IPA. I'm actually hoping this is infected, if not it's just a horrible representation of the style. I'm about to give up on Mikkeller, I've had a few okay beers from them but a lot of really bad ones too.
