Ramen Beer, a light and refreshing Belgian table beer designed to pair well with the complex and nuanced flavours of Japanese food, gets a real kick up the pants with the addition of yuzu. This incredibly sharp Japanese citrus fruit transforms this beer into something else entirely.

this is really great stuff, bretty as can be sort or reminds me of that tribute to orval they do, its that kind of musty basement funk meets fruity brett, complex and evolved and dry, but the yuzu really makes it pretty interesting, almost perfumey in the nose, intense, floral, white grapefruity. i really didnt expect this to be wild, nothing about it says it is, i actually thought the can was from stone, i have not seet this aesthetic from mikkeller before. the yuzu is so pungent in the nose, amazingly fresh, grapefruit and lime leaf and flowers, with a huge degree of dry funk, complex but crushable, with a wheaty base, saison more then pale ale to me, not all that hoppy anywhere in this, but the yuzu and brett are pungent enough that i might not be able to appreciate them anyway, so i dont miss hops here. i am blown away by the brett, love the freshness and uniqueness of the fruit, just hate the price. something like five bucks a can, thats a 30 dollar six pack, i want this to be in like a 20 dollar 30 pack, id drink nothing but this for the rest of the summer happily if that was the case. im sure its nice with food as they say, but it needs nothing to stand out as amazing to me. one of the best mikkeller beers i have had in awhile now, just extraordinary!

A: Pours with a creamy and sudsy, three-finger, off-white head with decent retention, and a fairly hazy reddish amber body, fair lacing.
S: Immediately sharp and peppery, with prominent ginger spiciness and a pleasant, almost lemon pledge like base note (I'll assume that's the Yuzu), somewhat sweet, I didn't notice that this was a brett beer until I saw it in the ingredient list, but it makes sense.
T: Immediate sweet lemon flavor, with a pleasant biscuity malt backbone and a slight tartness. I don't really pick up on much brett here maybe an undercurrent of straw/hay, nor do I pick up on any more than the slightest suggestion of hop bitterness.
M: medium body, not quite sticky.
O: This shit drinks like water, very smooth, very easy to drink, it's hard to imagine anyone not liking this.

The beer pours out a hazy dark golden amber color, with 2 fingers of off white head------------- the aromas are of citrus, spice and bubblegum-------------- the flavors are of lemon tea, lime and grapefruit(citrus bomb) the beer has a thin mouthfeel with a dry bitter finish-------------- overall this is a tasty Belgian golden ale the yuzu takes over the whole beer which I enjoy a lot, it taste like a lemon ice tea it will be great in the summer--

A: The beer is hazy amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of yuzu fruit are present in the nose—which seem to resemble lemons and limes.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the yuzu fruit seems to be a little more subdued, although it is still strong enough to mask nearly all of the underlying flavors of the Belgian Pale Ale.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and slightly tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The addition of yuzu fruit to this beer lends some refreshing properties. I could see how this would pair well with a ramen dish.
