Pours a beautiful, clear deep copper, with a thick cap of white foam.
Smell starts off malty and slightly sweet, before adding some piney resin.
Taste is well grounded by a nice malt base, on top of which a nicely balanced bitterness and hints of rye, pepper and something slightly medicinal rests.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a very good rye IPA, where only the medicinal note irks me a little.

A one pint can with a Julian canned on date of 17355, meaning that it was canned on 21st December 2017. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A clear copper amber colour with an almost three finger off white head that had good retention while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet, pineapple, caramel malt, rye, pine, citrusy orange and grass.
Taste: Sweet, marmalade, mandarin, orange and pineapple with caramel malt, rye and pine lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Quite a nice Wheat Rye IPA??? (I guess) Although perhaps it felt slightly too sweet at times.

A: Pours a clear deep copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate ruby red + golden yellow + burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall sudsy dense foamy tan head that quickly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted, caramel, and spicy rye malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness underneath moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit zest, and herbal hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted, caramel, and spicy rye malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit zest, and herbal hops which impart a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially slightly crisp with a moderate amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and well balanced with the spicy/sweet malts and citrus/herbal hops. Not overly sweet and not too bitter. More of a classic West Coast IPA.
