Copenhagen 15/11 2015. 75 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh Ø. Primitive drawing of Santa Claus' legs with some kind of naked lady sitting in his lap on the label.
Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Settles as a 0,3 cm thick layer of foam with substantial lacing on the side of the glass.
Aroma is spicy and tart with some boozy notes from the alcohol. Spicy undercurrent with oranges, and coriander.
Medium strong carbonation and oily palate. Slightly thick, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is not exactly what I usually run into when I order a Christmas Beer. Moderate sweetness of caramel overpowered by pronounced bitterness. Some Belgian yeast and a healthy dose of alcohol. Aftertaste is bitter as well.
A bit on the bitter side but goes very well with my taste in beer.
