Copenhagen 10/10 2018. 47,3 cl can from Mikkellers web shop. Metallic can with a label. Drawing of Redhead with a face full of freckles on the label.
Pours slightly hazy orange with small, bubbly white head. Disappears fairly fast leaving a bubbly urine sample behind.
Aroma is herbal and sour. Quite strong odor of ginger is dominating. Oranges, citrus and unripe berries is also present. Lemonade-ish.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin watery, lively and prickly texture.
Flavor has light sweetness followed by medium sourness. Aftertaste is sour with a moderate ginger touch.
A bit too herbal for me - but a least they are not overdoing the Ginger thing.

Look: It pours golden with a white head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: It has orange and citrus aromas. The ginger is close to the strength of the citrus and orange. There is a hint of lemon and doughy notes.
Taste: It has a combination of orange, ginger, and lemon flavors. There is a bit of a doughy backbone to it.
Feel: It has a medium light body.
Overall, the flavor combinations just really don't work for me. They just didn't meld well together.

a berliner with orange zest and ginger, somewhat more substantial on the grain side than some other berliners i have had from mikkeller, but also really mild compared to others they do on the sourness, this one is lactic and really clean and mellow on the acid, it sets up the added ingredients really well i think. the ginger is natural and spicy in aroma and flavor, maybe too much for some, but this beer would be missing something without it now, so zesty and earthy and alive, gives this a totally original profile. the orange is behind that, as bitter as it is fruity, which is nice with the bigger grain complexion this has and a nice way to bring out the acidity, lemony and clean with the orange. its not as asian feeling as i thought it would be, almost expected a dipping sauce vibe to this, but thats not the case at all, its just fresh and summery. a littler bigger body than it needs but nice carbonation and the freshness of the added ingredients makes it all seem pretty light. i have really been enjoying the proliferation of mikkeller cans out of san diego! they seem to be everywhere but here in colorado now!

Pours a clear golden yellow with just a little bit of foam.
Smell is slightly tart with hits of ginger, lime and lemon balm.
Taste is mildly tart, but not very acidic. Notes of orange, lime, ginger and some youghurt, but everything is subtle and laid back. Very refreshing.
Mouthfeel is thin, well carbonated.
Overall, a very refreshing Berliner, but I would have liked some more intensity.

Poured from 16oz can, poured into as well as drank from a 16oz tulip glass. Canning date is in Julian dating, but it has 18053 printed on the bottom if you wish to use online converter.
Look: Pours a very dark goldenrod in color, more similar to a bronzed orange color. Reminds me of a ginger color. From a fairly simple pour, I achieved about 2 fingers worth of a bubbly white head, which dissipated rapidly. Some residual lacing on the glass.
Smell: Ginger is most prominent on the nose, with orange in the background. The beer has a bready backbone to the smell, making it smell even more inviting. Ginger is the star of the show though regarding smell. Slight herbal taste to the beer, but not astringently so.
Taste: Really nice. The orange is on the front end of the taste, but the ginger is on the finish. Both join forces to make a very pleasurable taste. The flavors are present, but not strongly overdone. I am really liking the taste for what it is.
Feel: Medium body and medium in weight. The style gifts it a grittier, meatier feeling to the beer, yet it is smooth and subtle. Carbonation levels are low. Very easy drinking.
Overall: I was very surprised by how much I am enjoying this beer. I can't think of the last time, or if at all, when I have had a beer than encompasses both ginger and orange flavor. At 4 abv, this is very drinkable and enjoyable. Anyways, I am very grateful to have tried this brew. Well done Mikkeller. Cheers!
