i had this along side of the mr. smith, and neither one were as fresh as they should be, likely owing to the five dollars per single price point, i really thought these would come down and stay fresher in the market with the san diego brewery, but we are yet to see that materialize, which is a real shame, because this was probably awesome a couple of months ago. super thick looking, pale and with some floaters, frothy and foamy though. aroma of wet wood, even cardboard, some hop fade and obvious oxidation here where it probably wasnt before. i still can appreciate some galaxy hops in here, but more heavy and less fruity than they usually are. the rest of the hops seem to have degenerated to bitter more than flavor, which also probably wasnt the case originally. i still like mikkellers ale yeast for these hoppy beers, something about it is unifying and satisfying, and its on display here well. the hop profile isnt what it was, assuredly, but its still a drinkable can of beer in this form, i just wish they could sell them a little cheaper to keep them moving...

Pours a hazy apricot color with thick, creamy foam.
Smell is tropical and juicy, with notes of papaya, melon, orange and canned peaches.
Taste goes down the same road as the nose, but adds some grass, a hint of booze and a very balanced bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium and soft, well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice IPA, easy to drink and nicely juicy.
