Copenhagen 10/9 2018. 33 cl can from Irma, Kbh NV. Keith Shore Drawing of Frightened guy sticking a finger into the dirt in front of a threatening shadow. A dramatik take on the Danish proverb.
Pours hazy orange with big yellow-ish head. Bubbly. Settles as thin, fine layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the side of the glass. Substantial Lacing.
Aroma is medium intense and fairly citric. Light sweetness overpowered by strong odor of Grape fruit juice.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery and lively texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter but quite thin.
Not a bad beer but it feels like a watered Down version of the proverb sister “Hair in the Mailbox”.

Pours a clear deep golden amber coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of grainy, caramel malt, a strong floral note reminiscent of rose petals and hints of citrus and tropical fruit: tangerine, mango. Taste follows the nose, with some grainy, slightly caramelly malts and a strong, almost perfumy, floral note dominating and some lighter fruity accents of citrus and tropical fruit: tangerine, mango. Finishes with a light bitterness and that floral note lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light body and medium carbonation.
This is a decent old school Pale Ale, but nothing particularly exciting at all. Way too floral for my personal taste, although it certainly gives this a unique note that is slightly reminiscent of rose water

L- Either dark gold or very pale chestnut. Pours with white 1cm head. Decent ongoing rising CO2. Slightly hazy.
S- Prominent! I was hit by a clear floral scent the moment I popped the can, Up close I get lychee and a fruit-blend smell that reminds of the childhood sweets called Fruit Gums. Overall it's like a cross between lychee, other soft fruits and rose petals.
T- Dry, fruit elements, and quickly into a hoppy finish. It's as quick as 1-2-3, and done, quite striking.
F- It's 4.5% and tastes it. With such a robust flavour it might be interesting to see a say 5.5%/+ iteration of it, as this one comes over as a bit thin to me.
O- Very interesting, distinctive, and if this was a favourite you'd recognise this brew a mile off. It might be a bit too 'eccentric' for me to make a regular.
330ml can bought from Marks and Spencer London. BB 06/08/19
I Googled to find which supermarket stocks this, ie which one I'd bought it from and found this interesting article from just last week re: how Marks+Spencer is working closely to develop and import international craft beers .... https://beertoday.co.uk/british-world-beers-m-and-s-0918/
