Copenhagen 9/12 2018. 47,3 cl can from Mikkeller Webshop. Keith Shore drawing of Guy with Hat and Cat. Surrounded by what I suppose is Coffee plants.
Pours opaque dark brown with beige head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick, dense layer of foam obscuring the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is pretty heavy on the Coffee. Light chocolatey sweetness, bitter coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Hints of vanilla.
Light carbonation. Soft, sticky, creamy texture.
Flavor is heavy sweet. Followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering.
Nice coffee bomb.

A 1 pint can, canned on 14th June 2018. Poured into a Spiegelau Stout glass.
Appearance: Black in colour with a big three finger brown head that dissipated fairly quickly and left only sparse lacing.
Aroma: Roasty, strong coffee, chocolate, cocoa with a hint of dried berries.
Taste: Roasty, dark malt, coffee, cocoa, chocolate, light to moderate bitterness, with a splash of caramel sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Nice drinking with lots of roast and coffee plus an interesting bitter and sweet balance.

huge thanks to my man drlovemd87 for hooking this one up, along with so many other great ones, not only recently but over the last half decade or so, what a trip its been! i love mikkeller and i love this one, it is a great continuation of the beer geek series, and the first beer from the new nyc brewery that i have knowingly enjoyed. it really is killer, done with what i have to presume is a local coffee, although i am not familiar with it. it seems higher dosed here than in the original, but also amazingly fresh in here, no oxidation, green pepper, or devolving into bitterness only. i get dried blueberries, wet cigar tobacco, dark cocoa in bar form, raisin, and char all from the coffee, both in nose and taste, its great! also lots of dark malt, some good bitterness to it for sure, but balance by a little liquid caramel sauce note in the middle. i love the classic mikkeller ale yeast, this dates way back, and its on display here, interesting in a dark beer, almost a baltic porter vibe to it, although i know thats not what it is. tons of body from the oats in the mash, tons of chocolate, tons of coffee, tons of depth, its huge, drinks bigger than it is in abv, and overall is just incredible. cool can art, love the nyc logo with the baseball faces, love the beer in this can! looking forward to more from this location, this was top notch by any standard!

Dark as night in color
Smell is mild coffee and hops
Taste is quite the same but as a lower ABV stout, this drinks very nicely
Coffee is prominent in the taste
A nice sessionish stout
