Mikkeller NYC’s People Power is our participatory beer in the People Power pledge. An American Pale Ale with Hallertau Blanc and Huell-Melon hops, this beer is incredibly crushable at 5.3%-perfect for a summer session. 10% of proceeds will go to the People Power Campaign by the ACLU working to expand access to the ballot across America. Beer, equal-access voting, Independence Day, does it get more American than that?

A: Pours a murky pale yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the majority of the surface (~95%) and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of tropical/honey dew melon, grassy, herbal, and tropical/gooseberry hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of tropical/honey dew melon, citrus/grapefruit zest, grassy, herbal, and tropical/gooseberry hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which lingers.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp initially with a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol - an interesting blend of more traditional hops in an NE-ish style Pale Ale with big hop flavors/aromas and a limited amount of bitterness. Enjoyable.

A: The beer is very hazy light pale yellow in color. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lemongrass and gooseberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of grapefruit and hints of honeydew melon.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: With all of the hop flavors and a lack of bitterness, this beer tastes like a New England-style IPA. It really packed in a lot of aromas and flavors from the hops for an APA.
