Served in a stemless wineglass from the can.
Appearance: Cloudy gold with light sediments on the bottom creating a white head rising about one finger's length off the body.
Smell: Ehh, mustard like aroma which is forgettable but then again have you ever smelled some hops before brewing.
Taste: Malty smooth grapefruit with another dose of grapefruit and smooth citrus juice. LIght light sour notes but trust me it's a good balance.
Mouth: Medium carbonation with a full body coming off a bit lemony at the finish. Yes sour and a touch dry.
Overall: Good brew, not as beautiful as my last one but can keep up with the big boys no problem. Salud!

Mikkeller is an interesting chameleon-like gypsy brewer. This collaboration with Prison City utilizes local products like Hudson Valley NY apple puree. Hazy, golden pour and a three-hop, dry-hop attack makes this a very satisfying juicy IPA, with an underlying mellow hint of apple. Very interesting collab.

Pours a hazy orange with fine, soft foam.
Smell is juicy and slightly sweet with notes of apricots, yellow apples and some wheat.
Taste is juicy and soft but still intense. Robust bitterness but impeccable balance. Notes of mango, pineapple and apple must on the finish. Just a slight hint of booze, like I get on most of Mikkeller NYC DIPAs.
Mouthfeel is perfect, soft and pillowy with perfect carbonation.
Overall, a very different, and damn good DIPA.

A: The beer is very cloudy dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of applesauce and spicy hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and starts off with flavors of applesauce (with no associated sweetness) and finishes with notes of grapefruit and hints of spicy hops. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly chewy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a unique take on an IPA that has a good contrast between fruity and spicy flavors. Any traces of alcohol are very well hidden from the taste.
