This single hop series NE IPA boasts aromas of melon and papaya all from the use of Ekuanot hops, which is where the beer got it's name from. Like all of our hazy IPA's, Dee's Knots is great for the summer weather to enjoy by the pool or pack with you on your vacation. Or be like us, and enjoy it while taking advantage of the modern marvel that is air conditioning.

A: Pours a murky medium to dark yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow + burnt orange + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a medium sized half finger thick cap in the center of the glass surrounded by a slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of tropical/honeydew melon + tropical/papaya + herbal hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + wheat + oat malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + wheat + oat malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of tropical/honeydew melon + tropical/papaya + herbal hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving lingering tropical + herbal hop flavors.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a light to moderate amount of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable and does a greta job highlight the Ekuanot hop with intense flavors + aromas.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/12/2019. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, green peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, green peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, green peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.8%. Overall this is a fantastic NEIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; great soft feel. Fantastic Ekuanot showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected. One on my favorite hops.

Pours a semi clear yellow with thick soft foam.
Smell is grassy and slightly earthy with bright notes of graefruit and pineapple coming through.
Taste sticks with the nose for the most part and adds a little bit of melon and a light bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a nice IPA, easy to drink and refreshing.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that settled down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass, and some specks of lacing running down the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of honeydew melon are present in the nose along with notes of herbal hops.
T: The taste follows the smell and has herbal notes along with flavors of honeydew melon, limes and papayas with hints of green peppers in the finish. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is bursting with lots of interesting flavors from the Ekuanot hops.

Part of their Hop Series. Nothing really special or unique, a MOR IPA.
