Re: Imperial IPA with Citra and Galaxy. Bump. Following up here, any updates? Super fruity nose with big mouthfeel coming from malted wheat and flaked oats.

Poured from 16oz can into a wine glass. Canned 19 December 2018.

A: Orange and flat, no head.
S: Mango, hop resin, apricot.
T/M: Heavy apricot on the palate, sweet and very dense, almost chewily substantial. The aftertaste is dryish and very bitter, but in a moreish, salivating way. Not particularly distinguishable, but plenty tasty.
O: This is a super typical, solid DIPA. A great introduction to the style.

Pours a hazy orange, like a glass of orange juice with some fine, white head.
Smell is juicy and fruity with notes of canned peaches, oranges and a hint of vanilla.
Taste is juicy and citrusy. Notes of peaches, passionfruit and a mild, soft bitterness. Very well balanced and drinkable.
Mouthfeel is medium and soft but slightly under carbonated.
Overall, a deceptively drinkable DIPA, very fruity and juicy.

A: The beer is cloudy whitish yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that left some specks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and eventually completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of lime citrus, mangos and passionfruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of citrusy hops—oranges and limes seem to stand out in particular—and has a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The use of flaked oats in this beer makes it a little lighter than what you would normally expect from an Imperial IPA. It is very drinkable and has no traces of alcohol whatsoever.
Serving type: can
