From the small bottle in a snifter (11.whatever size or 12 who cares!).
This nice little BSDA pours a muddy brown with a nice head of off white
foam that settles to a thick ring, thin swirling pool, and showcases light
lacing. Nose of plum, raisin, fig, brown sugar, coriander, and subtle
nutmeg. Flavors exceed the nose with dark brown sugar laced
dark bread notes with raisin and fig amongst touches of vinous
and herbal elements with moderate booze touches. Nice mouth
feel; medium body, smooth, lightly warming, medium light prickly
carbonation, and a lightly warming moderately sweet finish.
Overall, more excellence from a great brewer.
Cheers

12oz bottle. 8/26/18 bottle date. Appearance: Dark brown, opaque, with a lightvwhite head and decent lacing.
Aroma: Rich fruity esters of raisin, plum, pear, and even a touch of green apple. A touch of spice as well
Taste: Rich malt sweetness, caramel with a slight touch of roast. Fruitiness continues with raisin and plum, a touch of spice, and just enough bitterness to prevent this from being cloyingly sweet. Also picking up some cardboard oxidation flavor as well.
Mouthfeel: On the lighter bodied side of the style, with a low carbonation
Finish: Malt sweetness lingers long after the swallow. Some retronasal light fruitiness
Overall: Starts with a really promising aroma with an abundance of fruitiness from both the malt and yeast, but turns into a muddled flavor with some oxidation that doesn’t live up to the promise that the aroma provides. Kind of disappointing compared to other quads
