It’s a family affair, Riesling Papi is the first collab between MKNYC, MKSD, & MKHQ. A Brut IPA with Riesling juice added mid-fermentation producing a perfectly dry and clean beer.

Copenhagen 13/8 2019. 47,3 cl can from Mikkeller Web-shop. Keith Shore Drawing of Guy with a Beard and Hoodie on the can.

Pours unclear, pale yellow with a small white head. Very bubbly. Disappears completely leaving something that looks like Home-made Lemonade behind. No lacing.

Distinct aroma with a light sweet fruitiness and a stronger tart and citric odor. Light odor of sweet Peach and ripe Pear. Hints of caramel. Strong tart odor of tart berries. Touch of Grapes and White Wine.

Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, lively texture.
¨
Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a strong, tart, citric bitter sourness. Lingers for a bit Finish is vinous and dry.

Pleasant vinous, fruity, crisp and dry drink. I wonder what's up with the guy with the Hoodie.

A: The beer is hazy light yellow in color and has a high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high head that fizzed away, leaving a minuscule collar around the edge of the glass. It kind of reminds me like a paler version of a Mountain Dew.
S: Light aromas of Riesling grapes are present in the nose along with hints of biscuit malts.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of Riesling grapes along with ever so slight amounts of associated sweetness and hints of biscuit and cracker malts. No bitterness is detectable.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate with a bit of juiciness and has dry finish.
O: I liked the contrasting flavors of sweet Riesling grapes with dry biscuity hops in the taste of this Brut IPA.

Got this as a trade from a cool chick, not a huge head, dry, moderately hazy, clean, Riesling juice come through for sure and imparts a really cool layer to this. For sure not a New England style IPA, which is refreshing. Great fruit, stone fruit. If you see it buy it. Blessings to my friend in grand central. Seek it out.

Update: for this being a 7.5 abv it hides its alcohol very well, so easy to drink, also being a wine guy my self, if you don’t like Riesling, it does have Riesling esque quality - I dig it personally
