On tap at Albany Ale and Oyster in Albany, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a very small head and not much lacing.
This smells like sharp booze and whiskey, oak, roasty coffee, and dark chocolate.
This is probably a bit too harshly boozy, with lots of whiskey, but the coffee flavor is quite nice - bright, roasty, and very chocolatey. There’s some vanilla cream too, and maybe a touch of smoke.
This is creamy, but finishes harshly. It’s definitely a bit of a slow sipper.
The barrel aging didn’t really help this a ton, but the base coffee stout was good enough to save it.

Had a 5 oz glass as part of a flight at Albany Ale and Oyster. A terrific beer. Rich, full mouthfeel. Very well balanced. Bourbon, oak and coffee.. Albany Ale and Oyster listed it as 8.5% AV; the 10.9 listed in the "beer info" seems more likely to be correct.bitterness, though the alcohol blended in perfectly. A great beer, worth the $6 for the 5 oz.
