On tap at Swillburger/The Playhouse in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark and inky looking black color, with a tiny head and no lacing.
This smells like sweet candied orange, chocolate fudge, dark fruit, vanilla, oak, port, and a light touch of cinnamon.
The cinnamon is done pretty judiciously here, which is lucky. The orange liqueur barrels really do work well with this. The stout is not completely taken over by fruitiness from the barrel or the raisins - it's nicely roasty and fudgy to stand against being cloying.
This is thick and sweet, with some balance on the back end as it warms up a bit. There's no real booziness here.
This could have been extremely messy, but it does work. The odd and unique barrel choice really brings this all together and unifies all of the flavors.
