Copenhagen 20/6 2020. 50 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. A very blue can decorated with a Keith Shore drawing of seven (!) small men with hats and a giant lady in white all playing around with hop flowers. Snow White perhaps.

Pours unclear yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin but frothy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a medium strong sweet, malty odor mingling with a citric, sourish streak of grape and citrus fruit.

Light carbonation. Thin, watery, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger, citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is dry and a bit austere.

Nice dry APA - a bit on the thin and watery side.

look: three finger smooth looking white head with great retention, lightly hazy amber coloured beer, decent levels of carbonation within the beer.

smell: some biscuity caramel malt, pink grapefruit and passion fruit, lightly sweet, lightly citrus, somewhat grassy, not overly aromatic but not unpleasant.

taste: pretty nice actually, lot of biscuity malt, hint of caramel, beer is slightly sweet but there’s a load of honey flavour which is a nice surprise, not too fruity but there’s passion fruit and pink grapefruit and orange there, lightly but nicely bitter on the finish, light fruit flavours linger on as an aftertaste, a nice pale ale.

feel: light bodied, medium carbonation, somewhat dry, crisp and refreshing, totally drinkable and sessionable, well balanced, nice bitterness on the back of the tongue.

overall: definitely one of the better mikkeller pale ales i’ve had, and i’ve had a handful recently, quite a nice beer here, great session beer
