Poured from 750 mL bottle into cervoise.
A: Pours a dark golden hue with orange around the edges with backlighting. 2-3 inch frothy, bubbly, and rocky head with excellent retention.
S: Sweet grape with Nelson Sauvin white wine with a layer of actual white wine hits first. Following this is an array of other notes: stone fruit, balsamic funk, salt, almonds, lemon, and vanilla.
T: A quick burst of tart and sweet berries and citrus followed by salt, balsamic, vanilla, almonds, and stone fruit. As this warms, distinct notes of apples, peaches, lemon, and lime emerge. Honey and white grape notes linger in the background throughout. Also subtle hints of spice and a toasted note. The salt and balsamic notes fade the further you get into this beer (palate gets used to them?). Wow! Layered and complex!
M: Light body with a nice refreshing effervescence. Lightly sweet fruit layers. Hints of salt and tart. Lingers and matures beautifully on the palate.
D: Simply a superb brew! Wonderfully refreshing, easy drinking, and with layered complexity. Very rare to find that all in one package. Drink on it’s own for pure enjoyment or with a meal. Would pair perfectly with a quality chèvre.
