On draft at the Blind Tiger, New York, NY
Notes from the pub.
Poured into a 12 oz tulip, this is an acceptable glass.
Poured slowly by the server to form a ¼” head, which rapidly reduces to a thin cap.
Pitch black color, with excellent lace.
Very rich, distinctive, roasted malt aroma, with just a hint of smoke. Hints of chocolate and coffee. Lots going on here, it’s quite complex.
Incredibly rich entry on the palate of roasted malt. Chocolatey, complex flavors of malt and smoke. Crisp acidity, and perfect carbonation balance out the incredibly delicious, complex, and refined flavors.
Long finish of roasted malt, chocolate/coffee and a faint hint of smoke.
What an incredible Stout, very complex and refined. The smoke while present is not overdone at all and compliments the rest of the flavors. A very complex ale as the malt/smoke/chocolate all take turns at trying to be the dominate flavor.
Very Highly Recommended!!

Pours black with almost no head. Received this from two European trades. Some licorice and roast in nose. Mouthfeel is a tad above average. A good stout. Maybe the little carbonation makes it seem less than the monster stouts brewer these days, but its still a good one. Understated roastiness, well balanced and most drinkable.
