Russian Imperial Stout Aged in Brandy Barrels
Presented as an entry into the fold of evolution over time, the second release of The Last O.G. is older, wiser, and 100% Brandy barrel-aged. We want to showcase how barrel-type and duration of age in wood influences a base beer. Keep it simple.

Copenhagen 10/7 2021. 50 cl bottle from Mikkeller & Friends Bottle shop, Torvehallerne, Kbh. K. Simple red label with three different fonts and an underground vibe.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small dark beige head. Disappears after a few seconds leaving a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass behind.
Aroma is intense with a strong earthy scent mingling with a boozy sweet odor. Dark chocolate of the bitter variety, brown sugar, syrup and molasses. Dark alcohol and wood barrel. Leather and wet soil. Sour, grainy notes.
Light carbonation. Thick, viscous. fat, creamy, soft, flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong, heavy sweetness followed by medium strong, sharp, grainy sourness. Aftertaste is surprisingly bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingering. Finish is sweet and boozy.
Powerful, earthy, very sweet and boozy - but not without its own strange balance. Good one if you like them thick, heavy and boozy.
