Having our friend Chris Tropeano from Resident Culture all the way out in San Diego from Charlotte was such an incredible experience. Late summer, we were lucky enough to travel out to Lager Fest (hosted by RCBC) and fell in love with their extremely nuanced lagers, amazing IPA, and characterful mixed-culture beers. Faced with the opportunity to bring together our collective appreciations, celebrated over natural wines and fried chicken sandos, we present 'Shadows of Tomorrow', a Black Lager inspired by the legendary Schwarzbier. Constructed of a network of our favorite specialty malts, hopped gently with classic German hops, and fermented cool and long with our favorite Danish Lager yeast - yesterday is the past. Intricate layers of bakers cocoa, light roasted coffee, and mildly warmed pan dulce create a beautiful presentation of restraint and nuance. Supportive bitterness and a clean finish generates feelings desire and movement, today is the preview of tomorrow.
