I've had this one sitting in my cellar for awhile, figured it was finally time to crack it open on this cold winter night. I gave this a rough, violent pour out of the 11.2 oz bottle into my snifter. This beer pours a very dark brown, almost black color with a brown/tan head that's about an inch thick when first poured. Settles to a solid 1/2 inch after a few minutes with big bubbles in it. Good lacing here too. Aromas of dark roasted chocolate and caramel malt goodness along with black coffee notes as well as some vanilla and perhaps some dark fruit notes here too. It really tastes pretty much exactly like it smells, with roasted, fairly sweet chocolate and caramel malts upfront that gives way to vanilla and a bit of a roasted black coffee notes. Also some oatmeal/cereal notes here too. The roasted bitter notes certainly come out more as the beer sits and warms up a bit, as do some dark cherry notes. A good balance of flavors here. Has a thick, sort oily, somewhat syrupy, full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. An excellent imperial stout to be sure!

Copenhagen 28/4. 25 cl from tap at Mikkeller & Friends, Stefansgade, Kbh. N.
Pours opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a rich, sweet, sugary odor mingling with dark alcohol. Dark fruit - raisins and plums - brown sugar, toffee,, vanilla, dark chocolate and hints of coffee. Boozy bourbon.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous, fat, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and boozy. Lingering for a long time. Finish is sweet liqueur.
A small beer that took some time to sip in all its sugary and viscous majesty.

Uff, what beer! It can be taken with a spoon, it is very thick. For me, too much, too hard. But we must recognize that it is a fantastic beer, very well made, nothing balanced, forceful, heavy metal!

From the 22 oz bottle and enjoyed in a snifter. This BEAST pours a rich muddled
blackish brown with a nice head of brown foam that subsides to a thick ring, thick layer,
and showcases some spotty lacing. Nose of heavy dark chocolate, dark fruits, light char,
and serious dark malts with hint of coffee and licorice with strong booze. Flavors follow the
nose with heavy dark chocolate akin to syrup that mingles with black licorice and subtle coffee
that have been dunked into a dark plum and ripe sweet cherry flavor awash in strong brandy
like booze. Nice mouth feel for such a strong ale, medium high carbonation, full body, and a
heavy slick malt finish. Overall a SOLID RIS that is not to be taken lightly.
Cheers
