750 ML bottle Corked and Caged.
Thanks to Spicelab and MrKennedy for the night. Good beers

A-- Cork came out clean and no popping noise. Flat. Oh great. Onward we press. Poured a dark murky brownish black. Touches of ruby here and there. A few gurgles of bubbles but no trace of carbonation. Bummer

S-- Chocolate, soft coffee, licorice and dark fruits. Good nose for flat and has held up very well.

T-- Follows the nose but some big gaps due to lack of carbonation. Coffee was there but had faded a lot. Honestly in its prime this must have been very good.

M-- Smooth body. Medium body, ummm no carbonation. Hints of chocolate and coffee finish. ABV well hidden and can tell this was well made as the body was still workable for the age and lack of carbonation. Carbonation would have just lifted this well.

O-- Probably was a really good beer and a good effort from Mikkeller but that is how things go sometimes. Glad to try and was was there was good. Carbonation would have lifted this to a much higher score.

750mL bottle from Slowbeer. Thanks to MrKennedy and mulder 1010 for sharing.

Cork comes out silently and, as expected, there is zilch carbonation.

QUite a smooth nose of tobacco, leather, molasses, charcoal, dark fruits and a slight hint of booze. Intriguing but elusive to identify pungent coffee character.

Flavours show a lot more caramel, chocolate and dark fruits, without the differentiation and nuance in the smell.

Thin and empty! Needs carbonation!

Really promising nose, but the absence of carbonation doesn't carry the flavours. Disappointing that this is a dodgy bottle, leading to an unfairly harsh assessment.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malt, with a little bit of smoke mixed in. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of chocolate and roasted malt, as well as a little bit of charred barrel notes and dark fruits. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A nice beer from Mikkeller.

On-tap at the Mikkeller pub in Copenhagen.

Pours black with a half-finger brown head. The head recedes into a thin layer on top leaving solid lacing.

Smells of robust roasted malts with good amounts of dark chocolate. Also present are hints of char that intensify as the beer warms.

Tastes very similar to how it smells. Smooth roasted malt flavors well-integrated with dark chocolate kick things off. Midway through the sip mild amounts of charred malt flavors enter into things, fading out before a solidly bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It's got a nice thickness with smooth carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I finished my glass without any problems and could have another.

Overall this was a smooth and well-made beer. Worth a shot.
