a pleasant low alcohol kettle sour here, done with pineapple and coconut as the name suggests. its not the prettiest beer, looks like a belgian wit type in the glass, that frosted pale yellow color but there isnt much head at all here, so it looks a little lifeless even though its got some bubbles when it drinks. the nose is great though, summery with the fruit and not too sour, seems clean on the lactic side, lemony and quick, nothing weird about the ferment at all, professionally done for sure, wheat based it seems too, slightly earthy, and not over fruited to me, its beer first. the flavor has great balance between the two fruits, they start early and run long without being sugary at all, very natural to me, perhaps coconut in front of pineapple just a little, and an almost coconut milk vibe to this, its creamier and fuller than it looks, also suggesting more wheat than pils malt as the base of this. the acidity is mild enough that this can be pint beer, the lactic tang is thirst quenching but not stomach turning, and its clean. meyer lemon and dry cereal grain in the mix as well, more carbonation than it looks like, and overall an enjoyable and very flavorful little sour. we had some pretty clever sour beers from the london brewpub, cool to see them experimenting with these here!
