This is getting old so it's no surprise that there's almost no hop aroma or flavor. Hop bitterness, sure, but that's about it to match the caramel malts. A pity

Found this for 79 cents at 99 cent only stores. I could not pass this up. Very average american style ipa not much complexity but I think its pretty good.

same as the saaz version, this was accidentally forgotten about and not consumed fresh, but i am still so happy to be completing this series eventually, this one held up a lot better than the saaz, and while the willamette has never been a favorite hop of mine, this is a good ipa, and would have been special fresh i have a feeling. its got a woody amber color with a dense haze and a ton of coagulated yeast floaties, and if i wasnt so used to the looks of some of mikkellers beers, id be turned off. the nose is bitter and english smelling, almost like it has a different malt profile than the others, but it doesnt. its sweeter at first in taste though, working into a very well balanced pale ale type. i taste the yeast more in this than others too, maybe a product of age. the willamette hop does excellent bittering work, but doesnt bring a lot of aromatics to the table, which i expected and still enjoy. better as a pale ale than an ipa. fuller bodied, bubbly, satisfying. any single beer from this series would have worked for me as a session ipa, i just like the way mikkeller builds beer i guess, but even over a year old this is tasty to me.
