2012 bottle. The leather and smoke notes didn't do it for me. It seemed like an infected barrel.

Chilled 375ml bottle poured into a saison glass.
Copper red appearance with lively reddish bubbles.
Aroma of sweet malts, strawberries, lychee and biscuits.
Taste is very reminiscent of a Belgian ale with the trappings of a barrel aged fruited beer.
Bran, yeasty, sweet, lychee, strawberry, basic blended white wine. Nothing overpowering the Belgian style backbone.
Medium body with good solid carbonation.
Overall, an interesting beer and very unique.

Bottle from 2012. Pours a deep golden amber brown with two inches of bubbly supportive head. The head never faded completely, just stayed at about a centimeter. Great lacing and legs. Aroma is of white wine funkiness, white oak, vegetal earthiness and a floral fruitiness. Taste is dry fruity oak, light grassy funk, and a hint of black pepper. Nice body but it's light on the tongue. Tons of carbonation but it doesn't dance on the tongue. This might be my favorite beer from Mikkeller. I'm not picking up on the lychee much, but that grassy fruitiness is probably just the lychee playing in the background; but i'l liken the fruitiness more to a pear or Ranier cherry than lychee.

Appearance: It has a nice deep hazy orangy/amber color to it. It has a nice bubbly off-white head that dies down moderately and leaves some nice lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of white wine, some Brett funk, lemon, apples, some earthiness, oak and some lychees.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has a some white wine notes, slight tart lemon, Brett funk, green apples, oak, some earthiness and slight lychees.
Mouthfeel: It has a medium carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.
