Tremendously disappointing. I had quite high hopes for this beer and had saved it for a sour share with friends - thankfully, this bottle did not make the cut that evening and I ended up drinking it alone (drain pouring it, as it turns out).
Mikkeller beers so frequently seem to sit on shelves and in bad conditions in the US - I think that this certainly contributes to the poor quality of their beers here (in my experience, granted), but I'm really tired of paying for bad, past good date bottles. Funky E in particular is quite bad - it's strangely flat, malty, and peachy. While it seems to have held carb, the tastes are sadly muted and one-note. Again - flat. There are no barrel notes to speak of, and no chardonnay either.

Appearance: It has a deep merky amber/brown color to it. (Kind of reminds me of a homebrew) It has a nice light beige head that dies down moderately fast and leaves some lacing.
Smell: The aromas definitely give out hints of tart berries & grapes, caramel, oak, chardonnay, lemon and some barnyard funk.
Taste: Like the aromas, it has some tart dark fruit, alot of caramel (more than I thought there would be) oak, chardonnay and some lemony funk.
Mouthfeel: It has a low carbonation with a nice overall balance and feel.
Drinkability: It's a very smooth drinkable beer accompanied by good flavors and aromas.
