Coming in a 330ml slim brown bottle, served gently chilled in a Hapkin’s short-stemmed tulip-shaped sniffer.

A: pours a pitch black hue with a creamy dark reddish-brown head that settles fast to a thin sheet to last; the carbonation level remains… quiet.
S: rather fruit-estery, plummy-acidic and musky even, on top of sweet coffee, burned nuts, light raisins, very light sweet tobacco, treacle, and Fuggle-like hop aroma.
T: creamy-textured and softly-carbonated on the entry, the foretaste is sour fruity, nutty malty and pleasantly hoppy, featuring black prunes, burned nuts, roast malts, treacle, bitter chocolates, sweet tobacco, and plummy fruit-esters, backed by a very solid foundation of lightly spicy hop bitterness and deeply aromatic dark malts. The lingering aroma has more roasty flavour of black malts to it, slightly dry, with a very good lingering bitter feel and roast malt aroma, while the palate remains silky smooth sparkled only by a light bite from the hop spiciness.
M&O: the mouthfeel is sublime, silky smooth yet retaining the soft carbonation throughout the drink; the body is fulsome, but on the palate the taste seems to tread rather lightly in general. This is a wonderfully crafted porter-style ale worth slow sipping, with such a subtle balance and yet fulsome flavour elements to show, aided by the almost non-existent alc. feel to it. Highly recommended.

Opaque nearly black body gets capped by an inch of dense creamy-brown head that sticks to the walls weaving sheets of firm lace and shows no signs of dissipation.

Aroma of slightly acrid black malt, roast, brown sugar, bready or toasted bran-like sweetness, mint (a feature commonly attributed to the interaction of roasted grain/malt with hops), cheesy funk/sulphury notes and a hint of orange-flavored dark chocolate.

Roast-dominated flavor with a touch of orange-peel ends with leafy hop-bitterness that allies to roastiness to lend dry finish.

Medium body with surprisingly soft carbonation, especially when considering the excellent head retention. Despite dry character coats the lips with a gooey film.

Overall, the individual aromas/flavor are not well integrated and the beer fails to impress. I've seen better from Mikkeller (330 ml, BB date on the cap says 2015-10-10, into tulip).
