Brilliantly clear dark copper hue. Thin, but tight off white head leaves sparse lace. Earthy and citric hop combination w/ medium caramel and biscuit malt. Light diacetyl butterscotch. Mild pear like fruity esters highly reminescent of Fuller's ESB. Toffeeish malt sweetness upfront yields to a combination of moderate hop and biscuit bitterness. Pleasant, mild diacetyl complements the medium lovibond caramel malt sweetness. Subtle, refined hints of pear and berry like esters. Light in overall body, but with a oddly dextrinous, palate coating viscosity. Subdued, well controlled earthy hop flavor. Finishes lightly caramelly sweet, with pronounced breadiness perceptible with an exhale. A surprisingly good ESB. It is akin to Fuller's ESB mixed 50/50 with Redhook ESB. Understated in character, but nevertheless quite tasty and certainly quaffable.
