the tun tavern put out a raspberry wheat maybe in early anticipation of summer (?), but it needs a bit more work, methinks. pours a bright amber colour with, and this is the first i've ever noticed this a purple/pinkish colour in the white head. i'm assuming this is from the raspberries (168 lbs added or something of the sort, according to it's description @ the bar) but man was it strange. only barely noticeable, but noticeable all the same. the smell was (surprise) mainly of raspberry and wheat. flavour had the sweet raspberry fruit up front, wheat in the back. at times this one was a bit too sweet and overbearing. there's a tart dry finish as well. again, different, but needs work. subtlety in the flavours would be key here, moreso like the long trail blackbeary wheat, where the fruit flavouring is secondary. this one was decent and easy drinking, but the raspberries might get to you after a while.
