a: This was slightly darker than the others. It was served to me with a thin, soapy head.

s: Plenty of earthy, piny hops along with some sweet grain and brown sugar.

t: Too sweet up front; someone spilled the brown sugar in the oatmeal. The hops don't come through nearly as well here when compared to the rye version.

m: Soft and kind of slick.

o: Middle of the road IPA; I'm not sure what effect the oats had.

First had: on tap at the Collegeville brewpub

One of the "Multigrain" series, which was actually just one single different grain used in three different beers. The oat version appeared much like the others: clearish, golden yellow, with a thin white head; minimal retention and lacing. Subdued aroma of thin hops and grains. Taste of citrus and pine hops, a bit bland, bready grains. Light-medium body and fairly drinkable. Oats usually give a certain smoothness to a beer, but I think they're pretty much wasted on an IPA, and accordingly it didn't seem to affect this beer much, taste-wise or mouthfeel-wise.
